There is a form of sleep that doesn’t happen at night. It’s a quiet drifting of the mind when potential lies buried, ideas grow cold, and we stop paying attention to the power of vision and possibilities. This is deep slumber.. It is not rest; it is stagnation.
This sleep dulls vision and blurs purpose. It makes capable people settle for little wins instead of stretching and striving for more possibilities in God based on the opportunities that exist around us. It makes gifted leaders overlook what is already within reach. It is the chains that keep most people small, the limitation of sight and insight.
The truth is, the world around us is rich with opportunity. God has already placed provision within and around us. But when the mind sleeps, possibilities fly away. When we sleep, we loose direction, purpose is aborted. And when leaders sleep, nations and businesses stall.
We often think of poverty as a lack of money or opportunity. But the deeper kind of poverty has little to do with the size of your account and everything to do with the state of your mental awareness and awakening.
Solomon says…
“I went past the field of a sluggard,
past the vineyard of someone who has no sense;
thorns had come up everywhere,
the ground was covered with weeds,
and the stone wall was in ruins.
I applied my heart to what I observed
and learned a lesson from what I saw:
A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest
and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man.”
This also applied to the mind. An unfruitful mind will attract poverty, limitations, and scarcity of opportunities. It is left unengaged, untrained, and becomes like that overgrown field: filled with weeds of distraction, laziness, fear, and excuses.
Isaiah alerts us in Chapter 60:1“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
So, it’s time to wake up to stir the sleeping mind, to fan the fire of purpose back into flame. Wake up to your potential and opportunities already placed around you. The world doesn’t change when we sleep, it changes when we rise.
Awakening begins within. Open your eyes again, Ask questions, think, learn, build, create.
Its the Inner work, activating the inner eyes that see. Its Visions Dynamic that powers innovators, Visionaries, Strategists, System-Thinkers, Executives, Purpose-Driven Leaders..
Even the Bible warns us about the strong bond between sleep and poverty..
💰 Bible Scriptures on Mental Sleep and Poverty
1. Proverbs 6:9–11 (NIV)
“How long will you lie there, you sluggard?
When will you get up from your sleep?
A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
and poverty will come on you like a thief
and scarcity like an armed man.”
🔹 Meaning: Oversleeping and procrastination lead to lack. Poverty sneaks in quietly when diligence is neglected.

past the vineyard of someone who has no sense;
thorns had come up everywhere,
the ground was covered with weeds,
and the stone wall was in ruins.
I applied my heart to what I observed

and scarcity like an armed man.”

but diligent hands bring wealth.
He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.”
